Took a road trip to Kansas City which is about 3 hours from Omaha. We wanted to see the to new Bloch building addition to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. It was beautiful inside and out with highlights for me in both the contemporary and older wing of the museum. The Noguchi Sculpture Court, a sweet little blue and pink luster ceramic creamer, Agnes Martin, and Dorthea Tanning were just some of my favorites. We also checked out the galleries, first stopping at Dolphin Gallery which was an amazing space and then on to see our friend and Austin artist Rebecca Ward's 2 person show with Emily Sall at Paragraph gallery. It was beautiful. The Kemper Museum on the other hand, which was a favorite in past trips, was a disappointment this time. Over hung and not very interesting with a few small exceptions like the black Petah Coyne chandelier and a beautifully carved and then shrunken apple by Marco Maggi. It was a great trip with lots to see, eat, and do. Kansas City we LOVE you!
